The Krieghoff Open Day at Mid Wales was a surprising success. I say surprising because the weather was about as bad as it can be. Strong winds and poring rain did not lend a holiday atmosphere. Even so large numbers came from all around the country and it was great to see so many of our existing shooters turn up to provide support. My special thanks to those who lent of their experience and stood along those trying out the guns for the first time. To all of you who came I can only say THANK YOU. You added more to the day than you can know.

We have been working with Brian Wiseman, an English engraver, to produce typically "English" style engraving patterns for the K-80. John has just finished the first of these guns and you can see the first images of it by following this link:

I am very pleased with the pattern and as soon as it is completely finished I will post pictures. I saw it in the Ulm factory yesterday and it looks stunning. We decided not to colour case harden it as there is a lot of fine detail in the engraving that would be hidden in the colours. Instead it has been nitride hardened and the result is perfect. New pictures should be up in a couple of weeks.

Yesterday I visited the factory with a small party of UK shooters. All wanted a custom stock and to choose wood etc. We had a pleasant day and took advantage of the visit to have a tour of the factory. It is worth mentioning that this is open to anyone who is interested and all you have to
do is let me know. It is possible to do it in a single day, as we did, by leaving early in the morning and coming back on the evening flight. Depending on the flight times you can stay a night and enjoy the excellent food in that area. I will book the accommodation if required and arrange collection from and return to the airport. There are good flights to Stuttgart from Manchester, Birmingham, Heathrow and from Stansted to Friedrichshafen.

We will be at the English Open Sporting from May 12th to 15th. This year the event will be at Lakenheath Clay Target Centre in Suffolk and I know that Pete will put on a great shoot. He is already working on new layouts and making sure that everything is perfect. We will be providing some modest sponsorship for the event and it is aimed at making sure everyone who enters has the benefit. More information in the next newsletter.
