Congratulations to John Stafford, Vicky Bowering, Bob Taylor and Andy Waddington for their success at the English Open and British Open Double Rise Championships held Easter weekend at Bywell Shooting Ground. For all four shooters to win both titles in their respective categories is an unbelievable achievement and I doubt it will ever be done again. That is eight titles, four shooters all using the K-80. Simply awesome.
Some of our other family members also performed well although I still have not been able to get a complete list of scores. So apologies to anyone I don't mention. Graham Tidman achieved runner-up in Veterans in both events and also won Veterans in Sunday's DTL. John Bellamy tied for second in Saturday's doubles and then shared honours with John Stafford in Sunday's DTL. Both finishing on 299. I hear Jane Rowland did a magnificent 100/298 on Saturday and Vicky a 99/295 on Sunday. Good to see the ladies putting in the big scores. Well done all.
The first England sporting selection shoot was held at Southdown on the same weekend and congratulations to K-80 shooters Julian Freeman, who took high gun with 93, and Steve Baldwin who shared first in AA on 92.
Entries are now coming in fast for the Krieghoff 500 DTL event at the end of May. You can find an entry form on our website on the News and Events page. This year we will have the usual team of Erwin Peumans and Helmut Spann to carry out service on your guns. They will be joined by Martin Vetter (pronounced Fetter) who has just finished his apprenticeship at Krieghoff. Martin will be spend six months here, working alongside Erwin, and we are looking forward to having him here.
This years shoot promises to be special and I hear Arthur has the drive newly surfaced with tarmac. That will be a treat in itself.
Regarding this shoot I would be very interested to hear from Ladies, Veterans and Juniors regarding Category prizes. In past years we have not given separate prizes and the Categories have competed in Class. We have however given a sponsored High Gun prize. I have received complaints that we only give one prize in the Categories but it is hard to see how we can do anything else other than take you out of the Class prizes and put you in a class of your own. We cannot take two prizes out of the prize fund as this is not fair to everyone else. If we do put you in a separate group the available prize money will be less than it is in the Classes. Let me have your views or better still post a topic on the new forum and let us see if we can get a discussion going.
Our new style forum is up and running and has many more features than the old one. This time there are different categories where you can gain and share your knowledge on the K-80 and shooting in general. There is even a section on dealers and we invite you to post your comments, good or bad, on the service you have received from our dealers. Please use this forum as your feedback helps us to improve both the product and the level of service we can offer.
You can access the forum from the Home Page at www.krieghoff.co.uk or go directly to it with this link:

Development of the website continues and this year we are aiming to upload the results from our Krieghoff Classic events at the end of each day. It always annoys me when I can't find shoot results days after the event has been held so hopefully this will work out.
That is all for this issue so let me wish you all a very successful 2005 shooting season.
