Hi Alan,
I have all the parts for a single release trigger for my K80 except the hammer which has the recess on the top for the roller cam to sit in. They have quoted me $300 Au for the hammer which is about 185 EURO is it possiable to buy a used one or a new one at a cheaper price in the UK.

Hi Pat, please do not be offended by what I am going to say here. There is no way that a release trigger should be fitted to a K-80 by anyone other than a Krieghoff trained gunsmith. This is a complicated procedure and the settings and tolerances are critical for the safety of you and others. The fact that you are talking about the hammer having a recess for the roller cam tells me that you have not the slightest idea how the K-80 release even goes into the gun. Please do not attempt this. Even installing a new hammer is a difficult task without the right tools and knoowledge. Actually the price quoted for the hammer is fair as it is a complcated machining.
I also realise the difficulty in Australia of finding a factory qualified gunmaker. For that reason I am prepared to provide your gunsmith with as much help as I can if you insist on going ahead with this. Better that than you kill someone. If you pass on my email address to him I will provide as much technical support as possible but please believe me when I tell you that it is almost impossible to properly and safely set up a K-80 release unless you know what you are doing and have it in your hands.

Alan,
thank you for your concern in the fitting of the trigger I had no intention of fitting the trigger myself I intend to use John Mialls who is the Australian Krieghoff agent and has fitted numerious single and doublle release triggers to Krieghoffs. As I acqiured most of the parts from a friend who removed the system from his K80, he would not exchange his hammer for my pull action hammer and John wanted to sell me a complete kit which was not feasibile as I allready have most of the parts so I looked for an alternative means of obtaining a hammer instead of waiting until multiple orders from the agent were filled from thr Krieghoff factory approx 3 months waiting. Ordering a new single release hammer was not a viable action and also a costly one. I thought that a second hand one might be readily availible in your part of the world.

Cheers Pat

That is fine but of course your original post sounded like you were going to try it yourslef as usually a gunsmith would also supply the parts. Here in the UK for example it is unlikely that we would re-use release parts for a second gun.
If you let me have the serial number of your gun I can see if we can find you a hammer. I also need a photograph of the release plate you have so I know which hammer you need. It will not be a problem for us to supply a single hammer directly to John Mialls, either new or used. Send me the info and I will see what we can do.
