[ All Newsletters ] Subject: Krieghoff Newsletter, January 2006 Date: 31st January 2006
It has been a while since the last newsletter back in August. This is partly deliberate - because I personally find too frequent newsletters irritating - and partly because the Krieghoff web site has been undergoing change. Regular visitors will have noticed that we split everything non-Krieghoff off onto another site - www.alanrhone.com . The new site has been set up as an online store although more content is planned for the future. The store is very secure and so for convenience we transferred all the Krieghoff clothing and accessories into their own section on that site. You can buy online with confidence as your card details are not stored in a database anywhere, nor are they transferred without being encrypted. When the purchase is complete your card details are automatically deleted.
To coincide with the launch of the new store I finally concluded a deal with a new supplier of Polo shirts, Rugby shirts, fleeces etc. Our new supplier is UK based and consequently the prices are very competitive but the quality is better than ever. We are working together with this supplier to increase the range in the future. With the new line Polos now available we are offering the remnants of the old line at discounted prices. We don't have all sizes and colours but what we do have are listed under "Specials" in the store.
Back on the Krieghoff site we changed the News and Events into a News driven section that can be added to and updated easily. If you have any news items you would like adding to the site please send me details by email. Also new is a FAQs section in which I will answer all the questions we are frequently asked. The new forum that we launched last year has been dropped and the original format has been restored. Don't ask me why but, in spite of being feature-rich, the new forum never caught on. What doesn't work has to go and so the old style is back on-line.
The new site has also been improved for viewing on hand-held devices. Previously half the navigation didn't work and it was almost unreadable. Now everything works perfectly even on a mobile phone browser. A good tip here is to switch on the High Contrast option in the top left corner of the Navigation. this changes the site into a different scheme and loads much faster on a handheld.
The end of 2005 saw the launch of the new K-80 LR Trap Special. This model has a Precision Fit Stock fitted as standard and is already selling well. The Precision Fit Stock is growing in popularity and it is ideal for anyone who suffers from recoil. Making it available as a standard option was logical, especially now we have so much experience on this stock. We keep every part on the shelf and can fix just about anything that can go wrong.
For those of you interested in Big Game rifles we have just received the first of a special Imperial Edition of the Classic "Big Five". This beautiful double rifle is in calibre .470 NE and features English style fine scroll engraving a long guard, down to the steel capped grip, and the top strap extended up over the top of the comb. Nicely figured stock chosen for strength with a Rigby Style cheek-piece and fitted with a Zeiss Variomatic 1.1 - 4 X 24 Driven Game Scope and pivot bridge mount. The rifle is presented in a fitted case by Americase and will be priced at around £12,500.
Back with Clay Shooting, congratulations to those shooters who had such success in 2005. We really appreciate your success and hearing from you with details of a win or personal achievement, no matter how small, really makes our day.
Lastly, I wish you all a very successful 2006 season and look forward to meeting up with you again at the various events.
Alan
