[ All Newsletters ] Subject: Krieghoff Newsletter, December 2006 This is the first Newsletter I have sent out in quite a while. 2006 has been a very busy year for us with the move to our new building taking a lot more time and energy than we had forecast. With business growing we also found ourselves understaffed and it has not been easy to find new people. Ed Curry joined our sales staff during November and Joanne Elliott will take the position of Sales & Marketing Administrator from January. Welcome to both who I know wil be a valuable addition to our team.
The High Average results are out and I am thrilled to see so many Krieghoff shooters in the list. Highlights are Ben Husthwaite topping both Sporting and FITASC averages, Paul Chaplow leading the DTL and Nick Marsden with a very impressive 99.1% at the head of the Skeet field. Other first places go to Kate Brown, Ladies Sporting, John Winn DTL Veterans, Andy Waddington DTL Juniors and Jack Rowley DTL Colts. John Winn also clinched ABT Veterans top place. Following them are a host of other names. I have put together a list from Pull and added it to News and Events on the website. If I missed anyone please let me know so that I can correct it.
During the past few months we have been receiving a large number of complaints of misfires on the K-80. I can tell you with certainty that 99% percent of these complaints are cartridge related and I know other manufacturers are experiencing similar complaints. The problem is that although we can do certain things to produce a harder strike it is not good practice to do so. If we increase the firing pin protrusion and increase the hammer strike strength we are sowing the seed for future problems of pierced primers. The time taken to investigate these complaints is also onerous and we have formulated a new Service Policy to handle these complaints more efficiently. This service policy is published in full on our website and I ask that you read it carefully before sending us a K-80 with this complaint. The item regarding sending misfired cartridges is especially important as we simply cannot diagnose a problem without.
All of us here are looking forward to 2007 and to meeting up with you again at various events around the UK. We were not able to attend as many as we would have liked in 2006 but we will make up for it in 2007.
Most of you will have heard that Michael Brunton has sold Clay Shooting magazine and some have expressed concerns about the Krieghoff Classic DTL and FITASC events. I am happy to tell you that both events will take place in 2007 as before. I have already spoken with Wesley Stanton, the new publisher of Clay Shooting, and he is very much looking forward to what will be his first Classic DTL in May. This will be the 9th DTL and we are looking forward to a record entry. The Krieghoff FITASC will take place later in the year, date and venue to be announced.
That just leaves me to wish you all a very Happy Christmas on behalf of myself, Erwin and all our staff.
