Nick McKeown wins the Krieghoff Classic 2009. Nick went to the shoot off with Graham Evans after a tough and high-scoring couple of days shooting.
The Krieghoff Champion is determined by the High Gun from Saturday shooting off against the High Gun from Sunday. This unique format gives everyone a second chance to win even though they may have had a bad first day. This year, there were four 100/300 maximum scores on Saturday, Granham Evans, Jack Rowley, John Twigg and R Greenlaw.
Saturday's High Gun must be determined on Saturday and after the shoot off it was Graham Evans who went through.
Sunday saw eight 100/300 scores on the board, Sammie Dallas, Rob Hall, Nick McKeown, Aaron Smith, Dave Toomer, Dave Taylor, Russel Ireland and Gerald Sweet. In the shoot off it was Nick McKeown who emerged as High Gun for Sunday.
The head to head battle between Nick McKeown and Graham Evans commenced immediately and it is hard to say which is the toughest - shooting off immediately following the first of having to come in cold as Graham did. In the event it was Nick who went through to take the 11th Krieghoff DTL Championship and the Krieghoff K-80 that will be built to his specification at the factory in Germany.
This competition has never seen a two time winner with all eleven years being won by a different shooter.
