The Krieghoff Semprio - an innovation in gun technology

<< Back to Semprio

The Semprio's technology becomes apparent as soon as you pick it up - but don't look for a bolt handle. Repeating is carried out with the left hand, by pushing the entire barrel assembly of the gun forwards with the forearm, barrel, receiver and magazine. The receiver housing stays with the receiver bolt and lock. When it slides back, a cartridge is pushed from the magazine into the cartridge chamber and the solid rotary locking head, which has seven lugs and a locking surface of 65mm2, is securely locked onto the barrel assembly.

Since all moving parts are guided on a central rail and the profiled interlocking receiver bolt, this movement is extremely smooth and clean. This is important for enabling high speed repeating. With a little practice, four well-aimed shots are easily possible within four seconds.

The Semprio offers Krieghoff's usual proven design concepts. Besides the universal trigger system, the crisp, direct trigger of approx. 1300 g trigger weight is combined with a finely adjusted set trigger. This excellent triggering is one of the reasons why this rifle is so suitable for drive hunting, stalking and tree stands. The cocking slide on the receiver housing is Krieghoff's combi-cocking device. Besides cocking and uncocking the lock, a third position opens the receiver so that the magazine can be removed, for example. Being restricted to just a few ergonomically well-designed control elements is part of the Semprio's practical design.

As a genuine takedown, the Semprio offers another sought-after feature. The entire front section, including the section of the weapon that moves during repeating, can be released from the rear section by turning a lever - leaving two sections that can be stowed away in a break-down gun case, for example. This could not be simpler or quicker.

Easy dismantling makes the flexible Semprio even more configurable. The caliber can be changed with just a few movements after loosening a screw. The magazine and locking head bolt need only be removed if you are changing to another range of calibers. And the locking head bolt can be removed without using any tools.

The two-part stock also has plenty of modern design elements. A broad, scaled surface ensures a firm grasp in any position, and the modern cheek piece shape is particularly striking. A convenient feature is the Click and Go sling swivel, by which the sling can be quickly and simply put on and taken off at the push of a button.

The heart of the Semprio - its in-line repeating action - is enclosed in a casing with typical Krieghoff lines. The Dural casing frame is available in either matt black hard-anodized or with a silver-gray nickel coating. Both modern surfaces offer excellent protection from corrosion and mechanical influences.

The Semprio repeating rifle's practical design is supplemented by an open sight designed for moving targets. For modern scope assemblies as supplied by many scope mount manufacturers, the receiver is supplied with prisms and transverse lugs.
